This article explains about the patient authorization view and describes the options available in the module in detail. 


Managing patient authorizations for treatments and services can be daunting, but TherapyPM simplifies the process! You can effortlessly view, filter, add, edit, and track authorizations in real-time.

How to View and Manage Patient Authorizations?


  1. Auth Filter: It allows you to view patient authorizations. Click on the drop-down to view the three options: All, Active, and Inactive. By choosing All, you can view both Active and Inactive authorizations. Or you can choose Active or Inactive options according to your preferences.
  2. Add Authorization: Click the "+" icon on the Auth Filter to add a new authorization for the patient in TherapyPM. 
  3. More Options: Click the (...) button to access the below options:  
    1. Clone Authorization - Create a new authorization by copying from one of the already existing authorizations. 
    2. Authorization History - Click this option to view any history or changes made to this authorization from the start of its creation. 
    3. Delete Authorization - Use this option to delete the selected authorization.


  1. Authorization List: Once you select the preferred Auth Filter (All, Active, or Inactive), the following authorizations will be listed in the form of blocks. For further information, you can click on the authorization block to view, as explained below: 
    1. Primary Auth Tab: View and update your patients' primary authorization information.
    2. Secondary Auth Tab: View or add a secondary authorization to the primary authorization.
    3. Service Utilization: Click this option to add/view/edit service authorization.
      • Group Authorization Toggle: Turn on the toggle to convert previously created authorizations into a group authorization. This is used to schedule group appointments. 
      • Active Toggle: Turn on the toggle to activate the authorization. Only active authorizations can be added to the appointments. 
      • Placeholder Toggle: Turn on the toggle to convert the authorization into a placeholder.


Authorization Badges

  1. Active Authorization: An active authorization will have a Green Active badge in the authorization block.
  2. Inactive Authorization: An inactive authorization will have a Red Inactive badge in the authorization block.
  3. Placeholder: A placeholder authorization will have a Yellow "P" badge in the authorization block.
  4. Expired Authorization: An expired authorization will have a Red "E" badge in the authorization block.
  5. Group Authorization: A group authorization will have a Turquoise colo "G" badge in the authorization block.
