Split by Date of Service is a claim-division rule in TherapyPM that automatically separates claims based on each service date. If multiple sessions from different dates are grouped into one claim, enabling this rule ensures that each Date of Service (DOS) is billed on its own individual claim. This helps prevent payer rejections and ensures clarity in billing. 


Where to Find This Setting?

  1. Navigate to Billing > Billing Setup > Billing Settings.
  2. Under Claim Division Rules, enable Split by Date of Service by toggling ON in the Active column. 



What Does This Rule Do?

When the rule is ON:

  • Claims are split automatically when services fall on different dates.

  • The HCFA form will not combine multiple DOS entries into a single claim.

  • This helps maintain payer compliance and reduces denial risk.
