In TherapyPM, sessions are automatically locked once claims are generated and pushed for  billing. To unlock a session, you must retract the claims from the relevant billing statuses. This article explains the steps to retract claims from the Processing Billing Tab and the Manage Billing Tab to unlock the associated sessions. 


Retracting Claims from the Processing Billing Tab

The Processing Billing Tab is the first step in the billing process where claims are generated for further actions. Follow these steps to retract claims from this tab:


1. Navigate to the Processing Billing Tab under Billing module.

2. Generate the claims and sort them by the type of claim you want to retract.

3. Identify the claims you wish to retract. Use the Select Action dropdown, choose Retract, and click Save.




Once the claims are retracted, the session locks will automatically be released, and the session can be edited.


Retracting Claims from the Manage Billing Tab

The Manage Claims Tab is the second step in the billing process, where claims can be sent via SFTP or the Patient Portal. To edit a session associated with claims in this tab, you must retract the claims from both the Manage Billing Tab and the Processing Billing Tab.

Follow these steps to retract claims from the Manage Billing Tab:


1. Navigate to Manage Billing Tab under Billing module.

2. Generate the claims and sort them by type to identify the relevant ones.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Show Details from the dropdown box. Click OK to proceed.

4. Select the claims you want to retract, Use the dropdown menu, choose Retract from Billed Session, and click OK.



After retracting from both the Manage Billing Tab and the Processing Billing Tab, the session locks will be released, allowing you to edit the session.


Note: If the claim is in the Manage Billing Tab, it must first be retracted from there before being retracted from the Processing Billing Tab to fully unlock the session.
